How long does it take to get a website built and running?

The time frame for website completion ultimately depends on the size and scope of the project - simpler sites are quickly completed, while more complex sites require more time. To find out how long YOUR site will take, send me an email!

How long will it take before you can get started on my site?

Start time varies depending on my existing workload and commitments. I prefer to have a month or so of lead time before starting a project, however that is not a requirement. The best way to find out how soon I can start creating YOUR website is to send me an email!

What kind of content do I need to provide?

This, of course, depends on what kind of site you wish to have. If you want a portfolio site for your photography, then I will need jpgs of all the pictures you wish to feature on your site, as well as the written content (info about you, how to contact you, etc). Content is best delivered by email (for text) or by CD/DVD (for large files like photos, movies or mp3s).

What if I can't write content?

If you have the basic info and a good idea of what you'd like to say, but you just don't know how to say it, I can also provide content write-up services.

Once my website is completed, how can I update it?

Depending on your abilities and the complexity of the changes you wish to make I will recommend the best choice of action. For a small fee, I will happily make updates to the content of your site. Should you wish to perform updates yourself, I will provide you with the necessary info to access the backend of your site and make small changes.

Will you help me find and set up a hosting server?

Yes. I can recommend a few different hosting services, and once you purchase a plan with one, I will simply ask you to forward the email they send you. That email will have all the info needed to access the server. I will then upload your new website to the new hosting service.

Can I hire you to build my new website and then host it on my existing server?

Sure!

Do you only work with local clients?

Of course not! I am happy to take on clients from around the world. Most communication can be done via email, and should there be a need for communication beyond that, there are a variety of options including Skype and iChat.

Do you build sites in Flash?

No. If you are simply looking for movement in your site, I can provide that using javascript, but I do not build websites using Flash.

Do you perform search engine optimization?

No. I do submit websites to major search engines, but that is simply the first step. After that, you will want to hire someone who specializes in search engine optimization in order to drive the maximum amount of traffic to your site.

I already have a website. Can you make updates to an existing site?
