    What I Do

web design & development - While I can and do design a variety of sites, I prefer creating portfolio and small e-commerce sites for individuals and artists of all mediums - photographers, dancers, musicians, lawyers, doctors, jewelry-makers, land-scapers, painters, etc. I find working with individuals, or small groups of individuals to be much more rewarding and artistically permissive than working for large corporations.

I design all my websites in Photoshop, and lovingly handcode each one using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I do very little work with Flash, as I find that the best and most accessible way to add movement to a site is through proper use of JavaScript. For those looking to regularly update their site by themselves (like a blog site, for instance) I can also build sites within Wordpress.

Concerning e-commerce sites: I love designing e-commerce sites, but I will only develop (i.e. code) the site if the number of items for sale is small. If you have an extensive array of products (more than 25), I will be more than happy to provide you with all the designs necessary for the developer to easily create your site, and I can also recommend expedient and reliable developers.

print - My print services include, but are not limited to, brochures, DVD/CD covers, advertisements for magazine & newspaper, hangtags, letterheads, envelopes and business cards.

    Quick Overview

    I. You submit your project idea, including guidelines, desired look and feel, overall size, etc.

II. I submit a plan of action, including a general timeline, number of revisions, initial deposit, final cost, what will be needed from you in terms of assets and content, and what you can expect from me upon project completion.

III. You sign off on the plan of action.

IV. A series of design and layout choices are created using the assets you provided as well as the guidelines discussed and agreed upon in step III - this usually takes between 1 and 2 weeks, though a more specific time table will be included in step II.

    V. You provide feedback and or revisions which is then carried out for the predetermined number of times specified in step II.

VI. I code and implement the site on my server, with frequent updates to you, as well as a link to the site in development so that you can check in on it whenever you like - this usually takes between 2 weeks and 2 months depending on the size and scope of the project, though, again, a more specific time table will be included in step II. If the project is a print project, then low-resolution jpegs of the progress will be posted to a designated area on my server so that you will be kept abreast of the progress.

VII. I submit the completed site or jpegs (still on my server) as finished and you give your final approval.

VIII. Upon final payment, the final site is transferred to your server space, thus making the site live and I give you a CD/DVD with all the source files used to create your site. In the case of print work, the final, full-size, high-resolution source and TIFF/EPS files are delivered to you in CD/DVD format.
